Plant walks are a fun, immersive way to increase your knowledge the of local flora. Some of the topics discussed on plants walks may include basic botany and taxonomy, identification and how to use a botanical field guide, organoleptics, ethical harvesting techniques, ecological impacts, and applications for medicine, food, and crafting.
It is uniquely satisfying to be able to tap into our ancestral knowledge and confidently identify the plants that surround us. You’ll learn to find value in the landscape beyond the array of materials it provides, as well as how to utilize those materials in ethical, regenerative ways and giving back to promote abundant and healthy ecosystems.
Please wear clothing suitable for the outdoors. We will be venturing off trail and may be walking on muddy or uneven terrain, and the walk is held rain or shine so come prepared. Please bring water, and a notebook or camera if you'd like to take notes.
